Jeanne Sorin is a Postdoctoral Scholar at the Institute for Climate and Sustainable Growth. In July 2026, she will join the Goldman School of Public Policy at the University of California, Berkeley, as an assistant professor.

Jeanne’s research lies at the intersection of development, urban and spatial, and environmental economics. Jeanne leverages a variety of tools—from quantitative spatial models to randomized controlled trials—to study challenges faced by developing cities. In ongoing projects in Uganda, Indonesia, and India, she focuses on transportation, infrastructure, and environmental hazards.

Jeanne holds a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago and Mac and BA from SciencesPo.
