Policymakers, industry, and investors around the world regularly hold key gatherings to discuss the state of the energy transition, climate change and other vital topics. The United Nations Climate Change Conferences (COP), CERA Week, and Climate Week NYC are some prominent examples. The Institute works to secure participation opportunities for select students through competitive processes. Participating students gain valuable insight on these topics in settings outside the classroom.

The Institute also works with Career Advancement to provide students with the opportunity to attend “treks” to key locations. Learn more here.

“COP27 has emphasized that the climate challenges we face are local problems just as much as they are global problems. Although international collaboration is essential, we’ve been able to connect with individuals across the world who are making the greatest impact by focusing on what they know best: their own community. I’m very eager to bring back these concepts and ideas to campus and the greater Chicago area.”
