Internships and Funding

The Institute provides three programs to support students in external summer internships.

Part of the mission of the Institute for Climate and Sustainable Growth is helping students navigate their career journeys. In addition to our summer research opportunities, the Institute offers three programs supporting UChicago students pursuing external summer internships related to climate, energy or the environment.

Climate and Growth Internship Program

The Institute’s Climate and Growth Internship Program allows all UChicago students to apply for full-time, funded summer internship positions with leading organizations in the fields of climate and energy.

Climate and Growth Fund

The Institute’s Climate and Growth Fund provides stipends to selected UChicago students who have independently secured an unpaid summer internship in the fields of energy, the environment or climate.

Polsky Policy Fellowships

Through the UChicago Polsky Summer 2026 Policy Fellowship Program, UChicago undergraduates can apply for funded, full-time summer internships at leading organizations in the fields of climate, energy or environmental policy.

Climate & Growth Conference Fund

The Institute’s Climate and Growth Conference Fund provides financial support for selected UChicago students who independently arrange to attend an external conference related to climate, energy or the environment.
