The Visiting Fellows program builds off the Energy Policy Institute’s fellowship program that invites energy and environmental policy practitioners to share their unique, real-world insights with scholars, students and the broader community through courses, events, briefings, and other forums.

Distinguished Fellows

The Institute’s new Distinguished Fellows Program will host leaders and key experts in climate and energy on campus to enrich the UChicago community and share knowledge. Through several visits over the course of an academic year, Distinguished Fellows will share perspectives and expertise in a series of lectures, workshops, and public discussions, as well as serve as resources for students, faculty, and staff.

Policy Fellows

EPIC started the Visiting Fellows in Policy Practice program to help contextualize research in a policy setting. As practitioners who served in various capacities in government—from Capitol Hill to executive agencies and the White House—these policy fellows provide invaluable perspective and expertise through events, workshops and one-on-one meetings with faculty and students.

Journalism Fellows

How does the research from EPIC’s scholars tie to the news you read every day? EPIC’s Visiting Fellows in Journalism help to draw that connection, providing context to focused research questions to help policymakers and the public fully understand the results. Journalism fellows moderate events throughout the academic year that are deeply tied to University research. As current members of the news media, they also share their expertise and understanding of the ever-evolving media landscape to help scholars and students better translate their work for a public audience. They also lead workshops and private meetings during their time as fellows.
