Climate and Growth Internship Program Participant, 2026; CERAWeek 2026 Attendee

Danielle Duble is an undergraduate in the College, double majoring in Environment, Geography, & Urbanization and Climate & Sustainable Growth. She is interested in the convergence of urban policy, environmental justice, and clean energy transitions, particularly how cities can equitably respond to climate change.

This summer, Danielle is interning with ReNew Private Limited in India through the Global Green Scholars Program. As an ESG & Sustainability intern, she will support ESG and integrated reporting, GHG inventorisation, and digital ESG data management.

On campus, she conducts ecology and evolution research in the Kreiner Laboratory, contributing to ongoing studies on herbicide resistance and plant adaptation. She is also deeply involved in sustainability leadership through Student Government, the Phoenix Sustainability Initiative, and the NAACP, where she advances waste reduction initiatives, composting expansion, and intersectional environmental advocacy. Through her research, policy work, and international experience in energy markets and green technology, she is committed to building resilient, community-centered urban systems.

Danielle also attended CERAWeek with the Institute’s student delegation in 2026.

“CERAWeek was truly an amazing experience for me. Not only was it my first time presenting research at a conference, but it was my first time at a conference ever. While intimidating at first, my presentation went smoothly in the end. Other CERAWeek attendees were eager to hear what I had to present, which made me more confident as I spoke. Along with that, UChicago faculty were at the booth with me to cheer me on as I presented.

The other presentations/talks were highly informative, but I believe the GTI Energy and Greentown Labs Private Events were the most engaging and impactful in my experience aside from presenting. Here, I was able to interact with professionals in a more relaxed setting, allowing me to form more personal relationships with other CERAWeek attendees. Additionally, the professionals were eager to aid in improving my future career and excited to hear about my experiences. This experience was fulfilling as a whole, and I appreciate the effort and time that was put into it. The entire process went very smoothly, and I left the conference feeling more confident in knowing that I want a future career in energy.”
