Alethea Oakley is a rising second year in the college, studying Economics and Environmental Science. She is especially interested in the intersection of finance and sustainability in the energy and impact investing space. On campus, she is involved with numerous environmental organizations and serves as a project lead in the Phoenix Sustainability Initiative and as the Events and Outreach chair for the Energy and Climate club. Oakley attended Climate Week NYC 2025 as part of the Institute’s first student delegation.
“During my three days at Climate Week NYC I had the privilege to attend numerous panels ranging from energy to regenerative agriculture to financing these climate focused transitions. This experience to hear from and speak to so many talented individuals has motivated me to continue the path that I am on, focusing on creating impact with my work and connections. Thanks to this event I learned more about topics like the regenerative agriculture space on a global level and new carbon management technology. I am grateful for this amazing experience and cannot wait to apply my newfound knowledge and connections to my academic and career goals.”
