Climate and Growth Fund Recipient, 2026, Earth Biometrics
Gabriel Thomas is a sophomore at the University of Chicago studying Economics and Environmental Science. In the summer of 2026, he will join Earth Biometrics as a Researcher stationed at the Jack and Laura Dangermond Preserve. In this role, Gabriel will contribute to a high-impact trial program conducted in partnership with NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), Caltech, and the Enterprise Neurosystem consortium to deploy a global AI sensor network for climate change monitoring. His responsibilities include the assembly and maintenance of field hardware, the troubleshooting of network systems connecting edge sensors to data infrastructure, and the management of critical environmental data. This work is part of a broader initiative to build a new global ecosystem and climate analysis tool allowing far greater insight into the health of the planet’s natrual world and the natural resources we rely on.
