The Conference of the Parties (COP) is the largest global United Nations event for discussions and negotiations on climate change. The meeting is held annually, rotating among the five UN-recognized regions. In 2026, COP31 will take place in Antalya, Türkiye.
The Institute sponsors an annual delegation of UChicago undergraduates and grad students to attend COP, accompanied by Institute staff.
