India Summer Fellow, Summer 2026
Yixiao Dai is a first-year student at the University of Chicago studying Statistics, Public Policy, and Environment, Geography, and Urbanization. Her work sits at the intersection of climate justice fieldwork and quantitative policy research: she has conducted field interviews in China on ecological relocation and conservation policy during her gap year, presented her research at UChicago Climate Frontiers, and represented youth climate perspectives at COP29, APAC Climate Conference of Youth, and the Oxford Global Youth Climate Summit; her climate entrepreneurship project was featured on the UNDP website. She currently holds two research assistantships at the UChicago Center for Robust Decision-making on Climate and Energy Policy, working on China’s energy transition, and at the Harris School of Public Policy, working on climate-driven wildlife and infrastructure impacts.
