Preeti Jha

Preeti Jha is an award-winning freelance journalist based in London. She writes narrative longreads with a focus on gender, health, politics, and human rights for multiple global outlets including The Guardian, The New York Times and Al Jazeera. She is also Semafor’s Africa News Editor. Previously Preeti was a Southeast Asia correspondent for AFP and a political journalist at the BBC. Since 2023, Preeti has been a participant on the Breathe London Community Programme, an air quality monitoring initiative, engaging with pollution data both as a citizen and a journalist.
