YuFan Tony Wu is a second-year undergraduate from Taiwan, majoring in Political Science and Art History. He is deeply interested in international relations, with a focus on how diplomacy can advance global sustainable development and resilience. Tony is currently involved with Taiwan-based nonprofit Forward Alliance, where he contributes to research and initiatives aimed at helping prepare citizens to face climate-related and human-made disasters. He hopes to learn more about the unique challenges and opportunities India and the world faces tackling climate change.

“During the India Summer Program, I gained valuable insights into the challenges faced not only in India but also globally. Climate change is a universal issue, but its impacts are felt differently depending on geographical, socioeconomic, and other contextual factors. This makes it crucial to recognize that even if we are not personally experiencing discomfort or disruption, every individual still has a responsibility to acknowledge the realities of climate change, engage in conversations about it, and incorporate climate-resilient practices into their daily lives. This was the most important lesson I took away from the fellowship program. If each of us adopts a mindset of sustainability and integrates eco-conscious approaches into our personal and professional actions, at the same time actively collaborating to develop climate adaptation strategies, then addressing and even reversing the effects of climate change will no longer seem impossible.”
