Sol Kim

Sol Kim joins the Climate Systems Engineering initiative (CSEi) as a Postdoctoral Research Associate. His research will be in collaboration with Prof. Kate Burrows (Public Health Sciences) and Prof. Hajin Kim (Law) to evaluate the impact of solar geoengineering on extreme weather events and the potential changes to public health outcomes. He will also explore methods and identify knowledge gaps that can inform discussions on geoengineering liability drawing on attribution science applied to climate change loss and damage. Prior to joining CSEi, he was a research associate in the Urban Theory Lab (UTL) and faculty affiliate in the Committee on Environment, Geography, and Urbanization (CEGU) at the University of Chicago working on climate change attribution and climate justice issues. He holds a Ph.D. in Geography, a B.A. in Geography, and a B.S. in Society and Environment from the University of California, Berkeley.
