Robert Kennedy

I worked for Miranda Clean Energy GmbH, a company that owns and manages renewables throughout Germany. My main project was developing and backtesting a power trading algorithm that hedges the company’s productive assets against negative prices in the spot-market. On a small scale this type of work makes energy-production more efficient and therefore more profitable. On a large scale, the effective management of the energy production/consumption balance will lead to a massive reduction in wasted energy, an outcome which is clearly desirable from a climate perspective! Though my role was a small one, I thoroughly enjoyed the heavily quantitative/technical work, especially because I felt I was doing it for a good cause.
