Rahul Singh joined the University of Chicago as a postdoctoral scholar in the Institute for Climate and Sustainable Growth and the Climate Systems Engineering initiative (CSEi) in July 2025. His current research focuses on assessing the effectiveness of stratospheric aerosol injection (SAI) in mitigating the impacts of global warming. He also has a strong interest in studying how large-scale atmospheric dynamics influence weather extremes such as tropical cyclones. Prior to this role, he worked as a project scientist at the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology in Pune, India. He earned his Ph.D. in Atmospheric Sciences from the Indian Institute of Technology in Delhi, India.
