Jacob Waldbauer

Jacob Waldbauer is a biogeochemist who investigates how microbial metabolism drives carbon and nutrient cycling in environments from the open ocean to Arctic soils. Proteomics is one of the group’s main analytical tools, which enables mechanistic links to be drawn between diverse microbes in natural communities, the carbon their metabolism transforms, and how environmental perturbations alter how they allocate scarce nutrient resources.
