Iram Siddique is a Master of Public Policy candidate at the University of Chicago’s Harris School of Public Policy, focusing on the intersection of environment, climate change, and international development. With over a decade of experience across media and corporate advocacy in India, Iram’s work focuses on transitioning from documenting systemic policy challenges to designing data-driven, scalable climate and energy solutions.
Prior to joining the University of Chicago, Iram spent 12 years as a journalist, building a career cantered on governance, climate resilience, and socio-political change across urban and rural India. Her on-ground reporting frequently evaluated environmental initiatives, from India’s largest floating solar power plant over the fresh-water Omkareshwar dam, to the Green Credit Scheme, along with national renewable energy programs like PM-KUSUM Yojana.
Beyond journalism, Iram served as the Regional Director at the American Chamber of Commerce India. In this role, she managed strategic partnerships and advocacy for over 100 U.S. corporations, collaborating with federal and state policymakers and the U.S. Consulate to advance ESG compliance, corporate governance, and sustainable business objectives. She holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Environmental Law & Public Policy from the National Law University & WWF.
