Carl Hoiland is the co-founder and CEO of Zanskar, a Utah-based company leveraging Artificial Intelligence to accelerate the discovery and development of geothermal resources. He holds a Ph.D. from Stanford University in geological sciences. At Stanford, he was an NSF graduate research fellow, and later was an Activate Fellow at the Lawrence Berkeley National Lab. Utilizing his research and exploration geologist background, Carl co-founded Zanskar with the purpose to reduce subsurface risk in geothermal development. Zanskar’s expert team, paired with machine learning and other cutting edge technologies, is finding and de-risking many new blind geothermal prospects across the western United States.
