Adam Bauer joined UChicago as a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of the Geophysical Sciences and the Climate Systems Engineering initiative (CSEi) in 2025. Adam’s research is highly interdisciplinary, synthesizing insights from physical climate science and economics to study climate policies under uncertainty and risk. In addition to his academic work, Adam has worked as a research consultant for the World Bank Group’s Climate Change Division and the Tamer Center for Social Enterprise at Columbia University. Before joining UChicago, Adam received his Ph.D. in physics from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign where he was an NSF Graduate Research Fellow. He also holds B.S. degrees in physics and applied mathematics from the University of Arizona.
