Ittipol Pawarmart

Mr.Ittipol Pawarmart currently serves as Director of Automotive Emission Laboratory, Air Quality and Noise Management Division, Pollution Control Department (PCD) in Thailand’s Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment. He has been at the PCD since 1996 as Environmentalist. In his current capacity, Mr.Ittipol is responsible for establishment of emission standards in Thailand, technical advisory for technical information to manage and control automotive air pollution, environmental issues in the automotive air pollution control and management, both at the national and international levels. Since 2009, he has served as a Thailand representative of the Asian Co-benefits Partnership supported by the Ministry of Environment, Japan, to working and sharing information on co-benefits measures and policies and projects in Asia integrating between air pollution and climate change focusing on policies and mitigation measures. His areas of expertise include environmental impact assessment, emission standards, emission testing, inspection program for in-used vehicles, air pollution modeling, emission inventory, source apportionment, climate change issues especially on PM2.5 National Action Plan and NDC action plan in transport sector and environmentally sustainable transport. He is now working on low carbon cities in Thailand, Green Ports, Decarbonization Projects, Carbon Credits Market Initiative and BCG Initiative particularly in transportation sector. Mr.Ittipol holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from Kyoritsu University in Japan.
