Dr. Ramit Debnath is a University Assistant Professor and Executive Director of the Centre for Human‑Inspired AI (CHIA) at the University of Cambridge. Trained in electrical engineering and computational social science, his research develops AI‑driven methods to understand the complex, system‑level barriers to climate action, how these barriers interact, and where policy and behavioural interventions can be most effective at scale. He leads the Collective Intelligence and Design Group and the climaTRACES Lab at Cambridge, advancing interdisciplinary approaches that bridge machine intelligence, human behaviour, and climate policy. Dr. Debnath serves on the UK Government’s Methods Advisory Group (MAG) and holds visiting academic appointments at Stanford University and Caltech. He completed his MPhil and PhD at the University of Cambridge as a Gates Scholar.
