Vikram is a rising 3rd year in the College (’27) studying Economics, with minors in Geographic Information Systems and South Asian Languages and Civilizations. He is interested in urban infrastructure, climate risk mitigation, and sustainable development, and is excited to get an up-close look at the work being done in India to meet these growing needs. On campus, Vikram is active as a Resident Assistant and a member of the South Asian Music Ensemble. He also serves as VP of Research Operations for the Paul Douglas Institute, UChicago’s student-run policy research organization.

“Over the course of the program, I got to hear a wide variety of perspectives on evaluating and mitigating the climate crisis. We heard lectures from researchers about the community health effects of air pollution and heightened flooding, visited nonprofits who are helping communities fight the urban heat crisis in Ahmedabad, and talked to companies in the power and critical minerals sectors about the process of India’s clean energy transition. I ended the trip feeling inspired by all the work that’s being done, and galvanized to be part of the solution.”
