Mason Majszak

Mason Majszak joins the University of Chicago as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Climate Systems Engineering initiative (CSEi). With a PhD in philosophy, partially supervised within the Oeschger Centre for Climate Change Research (OCCR) at the University of Bern in Switzerland, and previous degrees in ecology and environmental policy, Mason’s work is inherently interdisciplinary. Currently, he is focusing on issues which cut across philosophy and climate science, such as developing frameworks for representing uncertainty as subjective probabilities, investigating how experts make decisions under uncertainty, and examining how the tradeoffs in this decision-making can have further justice implications and affect layperson trust in science. To conduct this research at CSEi, he is working in collaboration with and under the supervision of Dr. David Keith.
