Katie Fassbinder is the Associate Director, Educational Programs and Partnerships, and her role focuses on designing innovative co-curricular programing and building partnerships that support student learning and engagement in climate and energy for the Institute. Before joining the Institute for Climate and Sustainable Growth, Katie was the Director of International and Social Science Careers at UChicago Career Advancement, where she expanded global internship and career-related programming for the College. Before coming to UChicago, Katie spent nearly 6 years in Singapore as Assistant Director for an international campus supporting faculty and student affairs. Previously she also worked for several study abroad organizations, was a Peace Corps Volunteeer in China, taught English in Turkey, and studied abroad in South Africa, India, and Iceland. She holds a B.A. in Political Science and Geography (Environmental Studies) from the University of Iowa, an M.A. in International Education from SIT Graduate Institute, and a Certificate of Advanced Study in Environmental Leadership from SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry.
