“I was unfamiliar with agrivoltaics and solar development before the competition but wanted to learn more about ways to improve land use by integrating energy systems. I learned a lot about soybean agriculture and solar development initiatives in Illinois. Through this competition my team and I were challenged to consider what takes a solution from ordinary to sustainable. I also found it rewarding to see our project go from a rough estimate to a thoroughly researched and convincing proposal.”
