Mentor: Dorian Abbot, Professor, Geophysical Sciences
Fabio Ventura is a Computer Science student at the University of Chicago in the class of 2028. As a Polsky Research Fellow, Ventura worked with Professor Dorian Abbot, focusing on the emulation of climate models using artificial intelligence. The research focused on both AI model architectural development and on the efficacy of AI models.
“I was directly able to apply some of the skills learned in my computer science classes. It was a wonderful experience to be able to find practical use for some of the knowledge I gained from my previous year of studies. I particularly enjoyed meeting the other students, and was glad that everyone was so excited to work on difficult, yet impactful projects.”
