About the Speaker
Bradley (Brad) Grams specializes in cross-governmental infrastructure resilience policy, permitting, and environmental review, focusing on capital investment projects developed with stakeholders across the private, public, and third sectors. Their professional career has crossed the U.S. Departments of Energy and Transportation, the Environmental Protection Agency, and academia. Brad is currently an Environmental Program Manager at the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration, where they are responsible for energy and environmental solutions for airports and their partners. Prior to their current role, Brad was the Acting Director of Planning and Deputy Chief Risk Officer at the Environmental Protection Agency, leading the Agency’s strategy and enterprise risk management functions. They also held other senior roles at the Agency, including Principal White House Liaison for Environmental Protection Budgeting, and Chief of Staff for Chemical and Waste Risk Management under the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative. Prior to the EPA, Brad worked at the Department of Energy’s Argonne National Laboratory, leading ambient air pollution monitoring work in Chicagoland.
Outside of their public sector work, Brad is an Adjunct Lecturer at Northwestern University, teaching on strategy, enterprise risk management, and program evaluation, and co-leads their Affinity Leaders and Learners (ALL) LGBTQ+ Mentorship Program. They also mentor students pursuing resilience and sustainability careers at the University of Oxford, Princeton University, Harvard University, and Yale University. Brad also provides leadership in the third sector, serving on Governing Boards of Directors for The Delta Institute and Eco.Logic Programs, and the Global Training, Development, and Inclusion Council for the Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS). They hold degrees in Chemistry and Environmental Studies, both from the University of Chicago (AB/SB, 2005), a Master of Public Policy and Master of Public Administration (MPP/MPA) degree from Northwestern University (2017), and executive certificates in sustainability leadership (2021/2022), equitable clean energy development and finance (2023 and 2024), sustainable finance and business (2025 and 2026), and global insurance markets (2026) from Harvard University, Yale University, the University of Oxford, and Lloyd’s of London respectively.
